Frequently
Asked Questions
Who are your roofing crews?
Our primary roofing crew has been working with us since the owner was a sales representative at another company six years ago. We have a well-established, efficient working relationship. In cases where additional crews are needed (such as after a storm), we only work with vetted crews whose work we’re already familiar with.
What are Class 4 shingles?
Class 4 shingles are graded based on their resistance to hail, as determined by Underwriters Laboratories, a nonprofit organization. A Class 4 rating means the shingle can withstand a 2-foot steel ball dropped onto it without rupturing.
Will these shingles truly resist hail?
Yes, the Class 4 shingles we use are designed to resist hail. There are two types of Class 4 shingles: one with a white webbing on the back that helps prevent hail from piercing the shingle. These offer some protection but aren’t highly impact-resistant, and while they may qualify for insurance discounts, they may not fully withstand hail damage. The Class 4 shingles we use are made with SBS technology—a rubberized material in the asphalt mix—that helps the shingle bounce off hail rather than allowing it to penetrate.
Do you have insurance?
Yes, we are fully insured. We can provide proof of insurance upon request.
Which areas on the Front Range do you serve?
We serve the Loveland area all the way down to Northern Colorado Springs.
What is the Replacement Cost Value (RCV)?
The RCV is the total amount your adjuster estimates is needed to repair your property.
What is the Actual Cash Value (ACV)?
The ACV is the value of the item or claim, accounting for depreciation. It’s similar to the value of your car after it’s been in an accident, reflecting its worth before the damage occurred.
What happens to the rest of the funds?
The difference between the RCV and the ACV is called depreciation. Once your insurance company receives the invoice for the RCV and the work is finished, you can recover the depreciation which is owed to Ninja Roofs. Your only out of pocket expense is your deductible or upgrades.
What role does my mortgage company play in this process?
Your mortgage company’s name will likely be on the check, along with yours. Typically, it’s not difficult to get the check endorsed, but in some rare cases, certain mortgage companies may hold the funds until the work is finished.
Who handles the permits, inspections, and insurance processing?
We take care of all of these details for you.
What if my insurance company overlooks something?
It’s not uncommon for insurance companies to miss something in the initial claim. If this happens, we can submit a supplement for any missing items. The permit, for example, is something that often needs to be supplemented. Your out-of-pocket cost will always remain your deductible, regardless of what the insurance company does or does not cover in a full roof replacement. If there are additional items to address, we’ll take care of them for you.
